Hanok Perfume Workshop in Seoul
Visit PROUST’s garden hanok near Hyehwa for a personal perfume workshop. Discover a quiet, creative experience in Seoul’s Daehakro neighbourhood.
A garden, a hanok and time to make something personal.
Our perfume workshop takes place in a traditional Korean hanok in Jongno, near the theatres and streets of Daehakro. Inside PROUST, the pace slows: you sit with fragrance materials, talk about what you enjoy and begin to build a scent around your own ideas.
Founded in 2015, PROUST first opened in Ikseon-dong and moved its main atelier to Hyehwa in 2019. Our current hanok is both a place to make your own perfume and a working studio for fragrance projects connected with books, exhibitions, performances and brands.

A different way to experience a hanok
At PROUST, a hanok is the setting for a working scent atelier. You spend time in the space while doing something with your hands: smelling materials, making decisions and adjusting a blend.
The garden changes with the seasons, and the room offers a quieter pause during a busy Seoul itinerary. Your experience centres on making perfume, with the architecture and surroundings becoming part of the memory.
Near Hyehwa and Daehakro
PROUST is in the Hyehwa area of Jongno, close to Hyehwa Station on Subway Line 4. Daehakro is known for its theatres and cultural spaces, making the neighbourhood a natural setting for an atelier that also works with literature, visual art and performance.
Use our current address when planning your route:
38-3 Changgyeonggung-ro 26-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul 서울 종로구 창경궁로26길 38-3
Older PROUST articles may mention our former Ikseon-dong location. Please use the Hyehwa address above for your workshop.
Choose your own inspiration
Your fragrance does not have to follow a fixed theme. It might begin with a favourite note, a landscape, the feeling of a book, or simply a combination you enjoy smelling. We help you turn that starting point into a perfume you can wear.
